1 - DISCOVER ST-SATURNIN-LES-APT
With the quality of its light and the pride it takes in its history the village of St-Saturnin-lès-Apt in the Luberon represents all that is Provence. Take a walk around the village and see how old stone and the sunlight play hide-and-seek with one other.

Two-hour walk (Free car parks in the village)
In the middle of the rue de la Combe walk through an arch signposted "les Moulins" and follow the trail marked with arrows and green dots. You will soon arrive at the two old flour mills. The view of the Luberon Mountains and the patchwork of fields is magnificent. Notice the olive trees and their silvery foliage.
Continuing north, follow the green trail into the garrigue (wild hillside) for about 100 metres before crossing the dam (which provided drinking water for the village until the 1950s). There go through the doorway carved into the wall. Turn left and walk up through the remains of the mediaeval village towards the Chapel of the Castle (11th century).
Take the same path back to the village where you can enjoy discovering its little streets, squares and fountains.

3 - THE "JULLIEN" OLIVE OIL MILL
Leave St-Saturnin-lès-Apt taking the road to Apt. The olive mill can be found 1 km from the village.

Discover the olive : 1 hour walk (free)
A field of olive trees surrounds the mill. Here, close to the trees in the open air, you can discover the world of the olive tree. Colourful information boards explain everything about the tree, the olive, the soil and the farmers (in French and English).

Tour of the Mill (free)
The Jullien family who have always been farmers and have pressed olive oil for 4 generations are always pleased to explain the process. In their oil you can taste the wonderful fruity aromas of the Aglandau, the Luberon variety of olive. To conserve its unique flavour the Jullien Mill uses traditional methods: their millstones and presses produce a reputed oil.
During the olive harvest in November and December you can watch the work at the mill. At other times of the year the information boards explain the different stages of extraction.
Come and try the olive oil produced by the Jullien family and discover other regional products like the honey from their bees.
